St Joseph’s is committed in providing a meaningful and inclusive learning environment that caters for the intellectual, physical, spiritual, social and emotional wellbeing of each student.

We recognise the responsibility of meeting the educational needs of all students and embrace student’s individuality with dignity. We strive to provide equity, access and participation to education and encourage a collaborative approach with parents and the wider community. We continue to work collaboratively and review student’s learning needs at every stage of their Primary education.

Our Student Support Program provides support for students from Kindergarten to Year 6. It involves a team of specialist support staff and classroom Primary teachers working in partnership with students, parents and other relevant professionals to devise the best possible personalised learning program to support each student’s access to the curriculum and co-curricular experiences.

Personalised learning programs allow us to cater for a diversity of learning needs within our mainstream classrooms. For students requiring learning support, appropriate intervention will depend on the individual learning needs of the student and support may include access to specialists in Psychology, Speech Pathology and Occupational Therapy.

St Joseph’s Primary School aims to provide an education which is accessible and equitable to all students through:

  • Nurturing the wellbeing of all students holistically and ethically
  • Developing quality teaching programs that are inclusive of all students
  • Providing Personalised Learning Programs for students with additional learning needs
  • Accessing Specialist Professional intervention and support when necessary
  • Complying with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA, 1992) and the Disability Standards for Education (2005).

We are committed in providing a learning environment within a Christian framework that is supportive and responsive to individual needs and differences and that recognises and celebrates the individual student’s abilities and strengths. We promote the love of learning with positivity and provide the foundations to build lifelong learners.
