The Seasons for Growth grief and loss education program is conducted over eight 40-50 minute sessions with small groups of 4 to7 children and supported by a trained adult facilitator (‘Companion’).

The eight-session program is followed by a ‘celebration’ session with the group, parents/carers, and two optional ‘reconnector’ sessions. Information sessions can be provided by facilitators to parents and staff, and there is also a separate program available for parents (Seasons for Growth Parent Program).

It has a sound curriculum structure and incorporates a wide range of activities including discussion, writing, drawing, stories, role play, music, guided meditation and journaling.

The primary program consists of three levels:

  • Level 1 (ages 6-8 years)
  • Level 2 (ages 9-10 years)
  • Level 3 (ages 11-12 years)
